FOR A
GOOD TIME

Our story

Olivia immediately became suspicious after discovering both a blimp tracker and the fact that the Defenders were out of town that weekend, but she played along anyway. Joe proposed on their rooftop surrounded by both of our families, followed by a surprise celebration at Sonny’s Pizza with some of our favorite people.

It feels fitting that Navy Yard, the place where we first met and fell in love, is also where we’ll be starting this next chapter together.

We met on Bumble, officially completing the Habel dating app trifecta. Our first date was at Solace Brewing Company in Navy Yard on November 1st, 2023, and what was supposed to be a quick drink turned into a three-hour date.

Somewhere between the first drink and the last laugh, things just clicked. Joe apparently agreed, considering he started referring to Olivia as his girlfriend well before it was officially confirmed.

Since then, we’ve spent our time doing what we love most: movie nights, hanging out in local bars, concerts at the 9:30 Club, and making each other laugh daily. Being together has always felt easy.

In a very Joe move, the proposal involved an elaborate story about the Goodyear Blimp coming to DC for a Defenders game.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

The ceremony will begin promptly at X TIME. We recommend arriving by X TIME to check your coat, grab a drink, settle in, and enjoy the view before the festivities begin.

Where should we stay?

We’ve reserved discounted rates & room blocks for Friday, February 12 – Sunday, February 14, 2027 at the following hotels. Please use the links below to reserve your room.

What airport should I fly into?

The closest airport is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), though guests can also fly into Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) or Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).

Will transportation be provided?

There are many hotels in the area within a 15-minute walk of the venue, so transportation will not be provided. If you are staying farther away, the venue is easily accessible via the Navy Yard–Ballpark Metro stop (Green Line), and Uber and Lyft are readily available throughout the area. There is also a paid parking lot next door, though ride shares are encouraged for convenience.

What weather should we expect?

February in DC is typically cold, with temperatures ranging around the 30s. While snow is always possible, everything will be indoors and cozy.

What is the dress code?

Our dress code is fun formal - while we know it's winter, we’re fully embracing color and personality! Don’t question yourself - just have fun!

Where are you registered?

Honestly, we’re just excited to celebrate with all of our favorite people in one room. Your presence is more than enough for us — but for those who’ve asked, we've put together a registry on Zola.

Eat. Drink. Explore.

We're excited to share a few of our favorite places to eat, drink, and explore around the area. Whether you're in town for the weekend or just looking to venture beyond the wedding festivities, we hope you enjoy the city as much as we do.
  • Walk the riverfront past District Winery for waterfront views and a good stroll around Navy Yard.
  • Head up to the National Mall and explore some of DC’s museums and monuments.
  • If you're looking to venture beyond the National Mall, the National Portrait Gallery is one of Joe's favorite museums and is conveniently located right off the Gallery Place Metro stop.
  • Union Market for a fun food hall, drinks, and local shops.
Good Eats
Things to Do
  • Old Ebbitt Grill — A longtime DC classic near the White House known for oysters & seafood.
  • Silver Diner & Silver Social — Sometimes diner food just hits the spot. Go upstairs for cocktails and late-night bites overlooking Nationals Park.
  • Any Day Now — If you're looking for breakfast and coffee, this is our top pick. The scallion pancake breakfast sandwich is worth the hype.
  • I Egg You — A great brunch spot over on Capitol Hill that Olivia misses the most since moving. Make a day of it and head to Joe's Tavern after for our perfect combo.
  • The Salt Line — Seafood, oysters, and a little DC sports trivia: it's owned by former Nationals star Ryan Zimmerman.
  • Solace — Where we had our first date.
  • Andy's Pizza in Atlas Brew Works — Our favorite pizza in DC. We live across from another location and have to actively stop ourselves from eating it constantly.
  • The Wharf — Great for wandering, people-watching, and grabbing a drink or nicer dinner.
